Host a Flower Swap Dinner Party

Host a Flower Swap Dinner Party

Looking for a fresh twist on your next dinner party? Why not host a flower swap party that combines the beauty of blossoms with the convenience of takeout food? In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to hosting a memorable event that's sure to impress your guests—all while optimizing your dinner party ideas with stylish plate and bowl sets.

Step 1: Send Invitations

Start by sending out invitations that set the tone for your flower swap party. Whether you opt for digital invites or handwritten notes, be sure to include all the essential details and theme of the event. Don't forget to mention that guests should bring a bouquet of flowers with a maximum spend of $10 per person to mix and match.

Step 2: Order Takeout Food

Take the stress out of cooking by ordering delicious takeout food for your flower swap soirée. Choose a variety of dishes that cater to different dietary preferences and tastes, ensuring there's something for everyone to enjoy. From gourmet pizza to sushi platters, the possibilities are endless! For our party we created a delicious Yuzu Lavender Gin cocktail that was served as guests arrived with edible flowers. So cute!

Step 3: Set Up Food, Flower-Making and Chill Areas

Designate an area where guests can mingle, relax, and enjoy the food and drinks. Arrange comfortable seating, ambient lighting, and perhaps some soft background music to create a cozy atmosphere. Additionally, set up a flower-making station with scissors, twine, and vases where guests can create their own floral arrangements.

Here is our checklist:

  • Line up a bunch of vases or buckets to hold all of the flowers as your guests arrive (pro tip: have a trash can close by for all the end cuts of flowers)
  • Wrap your dining table in paper to protect it and use as a flower arranging station
  • Lay out tissue paper, old newspaper, whatever you have for people to wrap up their flower arrangements
  • Cut lengths of twine string to tie up all the bunches
  • Get some flower shears

Step 4: Curate Table Decor

Elevate the aesthetic of your flower swap party by curating a stunning tablescape with stylish plate and bowl sets. Mix and match different patterns, colors, and textures to create visual interest and complement the theme of your event. Whether you host at your dining table, a bistro table or your coffee table, let your personal style shine through in your table decor

Step 5: Host the Flower Swap

As guests arrive, invite them to place their flower bouquets on display and mingle with one another. Encourage everyone to mix and match flowers to create unique arrangements. This interactive activity adds an extra layer of fun and creativity to the party and allows guests to take home a beautiful souvenir from the evening.

Step 6: Enjoy The Party!

Once the flower swapping is underway, it's time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the company of your guests. Indulge in delicious takeout food, sip on refreshing drinks, and admire the stunning floral displays adorning your tablescape. Take plenty of photos to capture the memories and share them with friends and family on social media.

By following these steps, you can host a flower swap party that's as stylish as it is fun. From ordering takeout food to curating your plate and bowl sets, every detail will come together to create a memorable evening for you and your guests. So why wait? Start planning your flower swap soirée today and get ready to impress with your hosting skills and impeccable taste.
